Casablanca Mohammed V (CMN)

  • Terminal 1 handles most international flights; follow signs to immigration.
  • Train to Casa-Voyageurs station runs every hour (~45 min, 50 MAD).
  • Avoid unofficial taxi touts — use the official queue or pre-book.
  • Duty-free MAD currency available but rates are poor — use ATMs instead.

  • Small airport — immigration is usually fast (< 20 min).
  • Taxi to Fes medina: negotiate ~120 MAD fixed before entering.

  • Dirham is a closed currency — you cannot buy it outside Morocco.
  • Withdraw from ATMs (Banque Populaire, Attijariwafa) for best rates.
  • Airport exchange bureaus charge 3–5% above market rate.
  • Hotels offer poor rates — use ATMs or official exchange offices (bureau de change).
  • Cards widely accepted in cities; carry cash for medinas, souks, and rural areas.
  • Bargaining is expected in souks — start at 40–50% of asking price.
